Increase production, exports and consumption of molds and matrixes in Spain

According to the results of the poll of industrial products made by INE (National Institute of Statistics) in 2011, production, exports and consumption in the Spanish sector of molds and matrixes have increased.

Since 2004 production of molds and matrixes declined. However this tendency has changed since 2011 when there has been an increase of 6,7% , and it has reached 513 millions of euros.

There has been an increase in the production, exports, imports and consumption. Exports have increase 12.7%, imports by 59.7% and consumption by 19.6%.

As for imports, our major suppliers of matrixes are South Korea and China. France, Portugal and China for injection molds of plastic.

About exports of molds and matrixes, they are mainly aimed to consolidated markets, and it is important not to forget emerging markets like India, a country with business opportunities. India has shown interest in Spanish companies of matrixes and molds to serve its local demand.
